We come to Maggie Valley every year every year but this was the first time ever staying here. We had some friends that were coming the same time and they were here too. When we first booked the room the only room they had available was a Queen room on the 2nd floor. Since it was the last room available, we booked it. A week later Castlewood contacted me and told me they had a cancellation for a king room on the first floor and would we like it. Of course we said yes. To be honest, I really wanted a creekside room but we decided to try this motel instead. So glad we did. Our room had a nice tub with the jets. The water was very hot so each night I had a great relaxing bath. Never really met the office staff except for checking in because the housekeeping staff made sure all our needs were met. The room was very clean and the air conditioner worked great. Beds were very comfortable. Even though this motel was full, it was very quiet. Wonderful stay and I will definitely return here again. Thank you to the owners for such a nice motel at an affordable rate. Would strongly recommend this motel.
We visit Maggie Valley several times a year. Our last stay was with Castlewood. Rocking chairs in front of the room is always my priority when staying in Maggie Valley. We checked in, the guy at the desk was very friendly, even gave me options of room locations. The price was a little higher than I expected, but it was a Friday night, we usually get away during the week. The room was super clean, and spacious (2 Queen Bed). We enjoyed the pool, they even supplied pool towels (didn't expect that from a 'Mom and Pop' place). The TV was flat screen, great reception. WiFi was very strong. Mini-Golf, Arcade right beside the motel, shops and Subway within walking distance.
Love this place
The rooms are so clean, the staff are very friendly...we have stayed here several times and everytime is great....close to everything, pool is great, put put is fun....we love Castlewood. We always stay on the bottom floor closet to the put put, the rocking chairs are great for the nice mountain nights...the coffee shop across the street was great.
Castlewood is one of the best places we have stayed in the NC Mountains. It is quaint, with rocking chair porches, a wonderful covered, and huge, gazebo. The people who work there are the best. We will stay there every time we go to the area.
Quaint, clean and friendly staff
I can not say anything negative about our stay. The rooms were exceptionally clean. That's the first thing I look for. The staff was cheerful and accommodating. The tv was the older style but really is that a big deal? It worked and the picture was clear. Our WiFi worked really well, in fact much better than some of the chain hotels I have stayed in. If I have any complaints it would be one small petty one and that is they still use bedspreads instead of the comforter between two sheets. All in all, it is a nice place to stay and I highly recommend it.
